The theoretical research team of the Cognitive Psycholinguistics Sub-laboratory primarily relies on the research groups of Chinese Syntax and Semantics, and Contemporary Linguistics, with its core members also part of the Institute’s “Peak Climbing Plan” for the prioritized syntax-semantics discipline. The theoretical linguistics research team is responsible for providing theoretical foundations for the experimental research team, and conducting prospective preliminary studies for specific language experiments. The experimental research, in turn, will verify the findings of theoretical research and promote its in-depth development and practical application.
Adhering to the approach of “Chinese Perspective, Global Vision” to innovative development, the Cognitive Psycholinguistics Sub-laboratory is committed to addressing practical needs in fields such as language intelligence, language public opinion monitoring, and language ideology, while advancing major fundamental theoretical research based on China’s traditional categorical perspective. The laboratory will rigorously pursue experimental research in syntax, semantics, and pragmatics, further promoting the integrated development of theoretical and cognitive-psychological experimental studies grounded in Chinese grammatical facts.
