The research directions of the laboratory fully reflect the interdisciplinary nature of the field as well as innovations in research perspectives and methodologies. Grounded in a single theoretical foundation and guided by four key application-oriented domains, the laboratory aims to achieve an organic integration of theoretical and applied research. The "one theoretical foundation" serves as the theoretical basis and support, while the "four application-oriented domains" define its functional positioning and objectives, dedicated to meeting real-world needs for speech and language applications in society.
One Theoretical Foundation:
Fundamental theoretical research in phonetics
Four Application-Oriented Domains:
Brain and cognitive science research for language intelligence
Language acquisition and development research for the elderly and young
Intelligent language service research for language in daily life
Phonetic acquisition and training research for language education
Language Acquisition and Development Research for the Elderly and Young
Investigating the acquisition and development of Putonghua among preschool children in ethnic minority areas of Xinjiang
Collaborating with iFLYTEK to develop an intelligent Mandarin pronunciation assessment system for preschool children
Establishing a multidimensional linguistic cognitive health data platform for annual check-ups of elderly individuals
Conducting experimental studies to examine characteristics of language decline in adults
Research on Chinese-Specific Speech Cognition Mechanisms for Language Intelligence
Innovating experimental paradigms to create a new multimodal experimental space based on the “production-perception-action-cognition” model, tailored to the uniqueness of Chinese people and language, exploring integrated measurement and presentation technologies
Building high-quality, multidimensional EEG data resources to support next-generation information technologies and artificial intelligence
Developing multimodal speech interaction models that integrate emotional and prosodic information to advance speech intelligence interaction technologies
