QIAN Youyong is an associate research professor at the Institute of Linguistics, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. He received his PhD in Chinese Linguistics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison(2015), MA in Chinese Linguistics from Hanyang University, South Korea(2010), and BA in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language from Nankai University(2007). His research interests include modern phonology, historical phonology as well as first and second language acquisition. His major publications are A Study of Sino-Korean Phonology: Its Origin, Adaptation and Layers, “Phonological acquisition in Optimality Theory: Review and prospect”, and “An acoustic analysis of tonal errors by Korean learners of Mandarin Chinese”.
