The Key Laboratory of Linguistics at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences will be established at the end of 2023, in accordance with the requirements of General Secretary Xi Jinping and the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. Based on the "three consensuses" of our institute, it aims to accelerate the construction of the "three major systems", build an independent knowledge system, create a theoretical school with Chinese characteristics, and produce high-quality results. The Cognitive Psycholinguistics Sub-laboratory
The theoretical research team of the Cognitive Psycholinguistics Sub-laboratory primarily relies on the research groups of Chinese Syntax and Semantics, and Contemporary Linguistics, with its core members also part of the Institute’s “Peak Climbing Plan” for the prioritized syntax-semantics discipline.

The Phonetics and Speech Language Sciences Sub-laboratory
The research directions of the laboratory fully reflect the interdisciplinary nature of the field as well as innovations in research perspectives and methodologies. Grounded in a single theoretical foundation and guided by four key application-oriented domains, the laboratory aims to achieve an organic integration of theoretical and applied research. The "one theoretical foundation" serves as the theoretical basis and support, while the "four application-oriented domains" define its functional positioning and objectives, dedicated to meeting real-world needs for speech and language applications in society.
